Hi my name is Angelica and I am a junior in high school. I enjoy writing and creating artistic images of different things in my environment. I have a passion for the "ARTS", I have been using my life story as the platform for my future in writing. My daily journal entries have become a form of art therapy for me. I have a book of poetry and short stories that I have been working on that I decided to share on my website. I have been inspired to write because of many of my life experiences. I am motivated by the love of my grandmother, who was my caregiver. She was one of my biggest fans and motivator. I recently lost her and for a while I gave up on my dreams of becoming a writer. I know that she would want me to be the best I can be and because of her, I am more determined to showcase my writing skills to the world.

 

My future goals after high school are to attend Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where I will earn B.A in Journalism and Public relations. After that I plan on attending Columbia University in NYC where I will earn my M.A in Journalism. I plan on having my first book published before completing my undergraduate degree at Spelman. My writings have helped me to acknowledge to myself, that I am no longer a victim of my circumstances. I am hoping that by allowing the world to see my writings, I will be given the opportunity to be exposed to journalist and News reporters who will give me the guidance I need. I have a lot to learn and I am open to accepting any feedback that can help me improve as a writer and artist. I am now working on how to use contextual clues in a passage that are not always explicit. By learning how to do this, I will be able to write stories that will pull the readers in and fascinate them with my style of writing. It is my dream to one day write a book that will be placed on the NY Times best sellers list.
